What is Form I-94?

Form I-94 is the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Arrival/Departure Record that is issued to aliens at Port of Entry (POE) as proof of admission to the U.S. These are issued by the Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) Officers at Immigration Areas at the airport. Found on the I-94 is the departure date as noted/allowed by the CBP Officer.

CBP used to have physical I-94 cards/papers that they attach to passports upon U.S. entry, but these all changed in 2013. The I-94 is now automated and can be accessed online by the admitted alien/visitor.

Good day, I have question how to apply for SSN? I just got married a week ago. do you think i can apply for SSN first before i fix the AOS/EAD/AP and would they allow me to use my married name? and about the i-94, is it the one the CBP Officer wrote in my Passport with a stamp in my Port of Entry? I hope you can help me. Thank you 🙂
