Can I just print out the AOS (I-485) / EAD (I-765) / AP (I-131) forms and not fill it up electronically? Posted on January 18, 2015March 18, 2015 by Mrs. Presson No. You have to fill the I-485 (AOS) and I-131 (AP) forms electronically. These are important barcodes. The only form that doesn’t generate a barcode is the I-765 (EAD/Work Permit). The red arrow shows where those barcodes are generated after completing the form. Only then you can print the forms and sign them with black ink. This was also mentioned in the blog. http://mrsprsn.us/AOSChecklist AOS Forms and Barcodes | © 2014 – onwards, USCIS, MrsPresson.com Knowledgebase AP Forms (for AOS) and Barcodes | © 2014 – onwards, USCIS, MrsPresson.com Knowledgebase IMPORTANT NOTES: Sign ALL your forms using black ink. This direction is clearly seen in ALL USCIS forms. Even the Forms’ Instructions which are downloaded separately. Else, you will get an RFE. NEVER leave a blank, unless it’s a “date” where it doesn’t allow you to put in 0’s. Always use “N/A”, “None”, or 0’s. Read the form instructions carefully. If the instructions explicitly say you may leave a blank, then you may do so. If you don’t have a Social Security Number (SSN) yet, fill the blanks with 0’s. Though it would be good to have by the time you file your AOS, SSN is NOT required in Adjusting your status from K1. Some SSA Offices will not allow you to use your married name for SSN unless you already have your EAD/AP or Green Card with your married name on it. http://mrsprsn.us/SSN Again: 1. SAVE the USCIS Forms on your computer, 2. Fill up the forms ELECTRONICALLY so the barcode is generated. 3. Print the forms with the barcodes. 4. Sign the forms with black ink. jacq says: Hi Mrs. Presson! I found your articles very helpful. I just want to ask if I still need to electronically fallout and then print the forms that should’ve barcodes, since I ordered the Form I-485 and it appears there are already barcodes at the bottom. Thanks in advance for enlightening me on this.
Mrs. Presson says: 1. The barcode area should be clear. The barcodes will populate / automatically appear when you type your information on the form electronically. 2. Ordered? You paid for your forms? The forms are FREE online directly on the USCIS Website. Why would you order forms elsewhere?
