Why is my case on Administrative Processing and/or 221G? How long will it be stuck on AP? Posted on August 24, 2014April 3, 2015 by Mrs. Presson All cases go through Administrative Processing. This means the U.S. Embassy is doing additional background checks on your case. This varies as every case is unique. This can last for a few days to a few weeks, a month or more. This also applies to people who have submitted their documents because of 221G. Nobody will be able to give you a definite time frame. It’s always just best to follow up your case with your local U.S. Embassy’s Immigrant Visa Unit and/or check your case status on CEAC.
